Pearl Abyss (263750.KS) announced Thursday that its title "Crimson Desert" has sold 4 million copies across global platforms.
"Crimson Desert has sold 4 million copies worldwide," the company said through the game's official social media channels. "We sincerely thank all the Greymanes who have been part of this journey."
Crimson Desert sold 2 million copies on its first day, 3 million within four days, and reached 4 million in just 12 days, marking an unprecedented achievement for a Korean console game in the global market.
The response has been particularly strong in Western markets. The game maintains a "Very Positive" rating on Steam, with English-language reviews accounting for more than half of all user ratings on the platform.
According to the 2025 Game White Paper, North America and Europe accounted for 74% of the global console market in 2024, which was valued at approximately $53.7 billion (about 81 trillion won). Meanwhile, Korea's game exports by country are led by China (29.7%), followed by Southeast Asia (20.6%), North America (19.5%), and Japan (8.3%), underscoring the need for global market expansion and platform diversification.
Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game set on the vast seamless open-world continent of "Pywel," following the journey of protagonist "Kliff" and his Greymane companions. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, Steam, Apple Mac, Epic Games Store, and ROG Xbox Ally.
