LG CNS (064400.KS), an IT services affiliate of LG Group, announced Tuesday that it has launched the "RX Innovation Lab," a unit dedicated to providing customized robot adoption consulting for corporate clients.
The RX Innovation Lab is responsible for developing robot utilization strategies tailored to each company's work environment and adoption objectives. The organization supports the entire robot transformation (RX) process, from redesigning client workflows to reviewing productivity through proof-of-concept (PoC) testing.
The RX Innovation Lab offers clients a three-stage program. In the Insight stage, the lab analyzes the client's industry characteristics, on-site environment and work procedures to identify areas suitable for robot deployment. In the Design stage, it selects optimal robot solutions such as autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and humanoids. During this process, the team designs workflows that reflect role distribution between humans and robots as well as safety and quality standards. In the final Verification stage, worker behavioral data is used to train robots, followed by robot system implementation and PoC testing.
The lab pursues RX by redesigning the entire workflow of client operations. For logistics companies, for example, it analyzes the full process from goods receiving to storage, sorting, packaging and shipping to identify segments where robot deployment would be most effective. Movement paths, processing times and human-robot collaboration zones are then converted into data to design optimal process sequences and task allocation.
LG CNS has conducted numerous robot PoC projects based on field data from logistics, retail and manufacturing sites. Through hundreds of logistics center automation and intelligence projects, the company has accumulated expertise in operating various robots including warehouse automation logistics robots, AI picking robots and automated guided vehicles (AGV). Building on this experience, LG CNS is verifying the feasibility of robot applications in industrial settings by deploying robots for cargo loading and sorting at logistics centers and factories, as well as assembly inspection and quality checks on ships.
With the establishment of this new unit, LG CNS has completed a comprehensive innovation support framework for enterprise clients spanning from digital transformation (DX) to robot transformation (RX). "Based on our physical AI capabilities, LG CNS will build RX models optimized for industrial sites and contribute to our clients' productivity," CEO Hyun Shin-kyun said.
