Hecto Innovation, an information technology services company, announced on the 30th the launch of "Polyball," a professional baseball game prediction platform, ahead of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) league season.
Polyball is a portmanteau of the prefix "Poly," meaning diversity, and "Ball," representing sports games. It is a baseball prediction platform where users can enjoy predicting the outcomes of various professional baseball games while earning rewards.
Polyball offers match outcome prediction games as well as various mini-games such as guessing player statistics. When users correctly predict outcomes, they receive entry tickets that allow them to enter drawings for various baseball stadium seats, ranging from home team cheering sections to premium table seats. Users can use their entry tickets to apply for game ticket vouchers for professional baseball games of their choice.
Ticket vouchers distributed through the lottery are issued as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in a "Polyball Wallet" that is automatically created upon registration. To prevent ticket resale, the vouchers can be exchanged for physical tickets at designated GS25 convenience stores starting two hours before game time on the day of the match.
Hecto Innovation built a digital asset wallet into the Polyball app, laying the groundwork for future service expansion. The company acquired Hecto Wallet One, a blockchain wallet technology infrastructure firm, last year, internalizing wallet technology and nurturing it as a new growth engine. The wallet built into Polyball also utilizes Hecto Wallet One's enterprise digital wallet service "Octet," providing a safe and reliable wallet environment. Hecto Innovation plans to expand beyond professional baseball into other sports.
