Song Byung-jun, chairman of Com2uS (078340.KQ), the mobile gaming company, will visit Seoul National University's College of Engineering to share his entrepreneurial experience with students.
According to the venture industry on Thursday, Song is scheduled to deliver a special lecture titled "Entrepreneurship: The Power to Open Paths That Never Existed" at SNU's College of Engineering on July 1. The lecture is part of the "Entrepreneurial Engineering Technology Innovation Talent Program."
The program is a new entrepreneurship education initiative launched this year by SNU's College of Engineering. It is also the first such program to be incorporated into the university's regular undergraduate curriculum since its founding. The college has selected 23 students for the program. Participants receive funding for startup activities and scholarships. The program also features special lectures by entrepreneurs who are SNU engineering alumni. Song's lecture will be the first alumni lecture in the series.
Beyond this lecture, Song has consistently promoted entrepreneurship. A 1994 alumnus of SNU's Department of Electrical Engineering, he founded SNUSV, the university's first venture startup club. The club became the cradle for Song's establishment of Gamevil in 2000. Song currently serves as chairman of the Korea Venture Business Association, playing a central role in the venture industry. Last year, he participated in an event hosted by SNUSV at COEX in Seoul, delivering a congratulatory speech and presenting awards.
