Devsisters' (194480.KQ) "CookieRun: Oven Smash" topped the Apple App Store popularity rankings in both South Korea and the United States on its launch day.
Devsisters said Wednesday that CookieRun: Oven Smash reached No. 1 on the Korean App Store at 7 p.m. the previous day. It had climbed to the top of the US App Store at 4 p.m. the day before. As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, the game maintained its No. 1 position on the App Store popularity rankings in both the US and South Korea.
CookieRun: Oven Smash is a casual battle action game that adopts the first urban fantasy setting in the CookieRun IP and introduces real-time PvP combat.
The company attributes the strong performance to expanded participation from overseas users. Approximately 80% of the 3 million pre-registrants were overseas users.
Devsisters plans to run various programs with creators to enhance the game's spectator appeal. The company will first host "Creator Survival," a PvP content series featuring well-known game creators. From Wednesday through April 3, it will recruit 16 creators to participate as team members. Alongside this, Devsisters will launch the "CookieRun Creator Family" platform to build a creator ecosystem.
