SK Broadband announced Wednesday that it will operate the "K-POP Children's Culture and Arts Classroom" program in partnership with the Seoul Southern District Office of Education and LOVE FNC.
The program is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by SK Broadband designed to bridge educational gaps in local communities and embrace cultural diversity. This year, the program will be conducted at four elementary schools under the Southern District Office of Education, including Munseong Elementary School. The schools were selected primarily from the Geumcheon and Yeongdeungpo districts, where a high proportion of students come from immigrant backgrounds.
Professional choreographers from LOVE FNC, a nonprofit public interest foundation established by FNC Entertainment, will visit the schools to teach K-pop dance mainly to upper-grade students. Classes will run once a week starting in March through the end of the year, with 16 sessions per semester, tailored to each school's schedule.
SK Broadband has maintained a steady commitment to programs for children and youth, including "Happiness Alliance School," which offers local children cable broadcasting station tours and hands-on broadcast training, and the "Blossom Youth Music Festival," a songwriting competition for teenagers. This latest program also aims to foster emotional unity through dance among children who face language and cultural barriers.
"We hope that children from diverse cultural backgrounds can freely express themselves on the beat and come together as one," said Lee Jong-ho, head of SK Broadband's regional center. "We will continue working to create a world where every child around us can be the protagonist."
