Kakao Entertainment announced Monday that it has officially launched a co-CEO structure led by Ko Jung-hee and Jang Yun-jung, with a focus on enhancing synergies between intellectual property (IP) and platform operations and expanding its global fandom reach.
The company completed the appointment process for co-CEO Ko through its annual general shareholders' meeting and board of directors meeting held the previous day. Kakao Entertainment plans to strengthen its global competitiveness by combining co-CEO Ko's expertise in innovative service strategy built around platforms and AI with co-CEO Jang's insights and network in IP and global business operations.
Kakao Entertainment also established two new leadership roles: a Chief Platform Officer (CPO) to oversee platform service operations and a Global Growth Center to drive overseas business expansion. Co-CEO Ko will concurrently serve as CPO, while co-CEO Jang will head the Global Growth Center, with each directly leading platform and overseas business operations respectively.
"We will further enhance synergies by combining Kakao Entertainment's content IP competitiveness with our entertainment-specialized platform capabilities, and build a robust global fandom ecosystem for K-culture," the co-CEOs said.
