
Hyun Shin-kyun, chief executive of LG CNS (064400.KS), South Korea's major IT services provider, has been reappointed to lead the company.
LG CNS held its annual general meeting of shareholders at its headquarters in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, on Thursday and approved the reappointment of CEO Hyun. With the approval, Hyun is guaranteed a three-year term through the annual general meeting in March 2029.
Hyun was first appointed as CEO of LG CNS in 2023. Last year, he was promoted from executive vice president to president while retaining the CEO title. During his first term, LG CNS achieved significant external growth. The company listed on the Korea Exchange's main KOSPI market in February last year. It also posted record-high results for the year, with revenue of 6.1295 trillion won ($4.5 billion) and operating profit of 551.8 billion won. Most recently, the company signed back-to-back partnership agreements with OpenAI and Palantir.
Separately, LG CNS appointed Chief Financial Officer Song Kwang-ryun as a new inside director at the meeting. Song's term as inside director runs for two years through the annual general meeting in 2028. In addition, Chung Hwan, a professor of statistics at Korea University, and Lee Sung-joo, a professor of industrial engineering at Seoul National University, were reappointed as audit committee members.
