CHA Biotech (085660) announced on the 4th that its board of directors appointed Cha Won-tae, Vice Chairman of CHA Hospital and CHA Bio Group and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) of CHA Biotech, as the new CEO.
Cha previously served as Chief Operating Officer of CHA Health Systems, which operates CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles, and as Chief Strategy Officer of the hospital, before becoming President of CHA University.
He graduated from Duke University with a degree in biological anatomy and holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Yale University, an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a doctorate in public health from Yonsei University.
Since his appointment as Vice Chairman of CHA Hospital and CHA Bio Group and CSO of CHA Biotech in September last year, Cha has strengthened the company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management framework. He has served as an inside director since January this year to enhance responsible management and increase corporate value.
