LG Electronics (066570) announced on the 3rd that it will provide free "Whisen Air Conditioner Pre-season Inspection Service" through the end of this month to help customers prepare for the upcoming summer heat.
Air conditioners left unused for extended periods can develop problems including dust accumulation in filters and poor refrigerant circulation. Pre-season inspections help maintain cooling performance, minimize power consumption, and ensure clean air quality. Customer uptake of the pre-season inspection service increased more than 20% last year compared to the previous year, reflecting strong demand.
The service's key feature is its active use of artificial intelligence technology. Upon request, a specialist engineer visits and wirelessly connects to the unit via the "LG Smart Check" app. The system can control and inspect cooling performance, refrigerant status, and power and wiring connections without disassembling the unit. AI analyzes real-time operational data and historical records, significantly improving diagnostic reliability and speed.
Customers can apply through the LG Electronics website or customer service center. Visit and inspection fees are fully waived. Additional charges may apply for parts replacement or refrigerant recharging.
Customers who prefer not to schedule an engineer visit can use the smart diagnosis feature in the "LG ThinQ" app. This enables self-inspection of major components including the inverter, fan motor, and pressure and temperature sensors, as well as refrigerant status, at a level comparable to an engineer visit. LG Electronics is also running a spring appliance cleaning promotion offering 10% off professional cleaning services.
"Through smart AI-powered air conditioner pre-inspections, we will deliver differentiated customer experiences in our service operations as well," said Jeong Jae-woong, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Value Innovation at LG Electronics.
