Hyundai Motor Co. sold 306,528 vehicles globally in February, down 5.1% from the same month last year.
Domestic sales fell 17.8% to 47,008 units, while overseas sales declined 2.3% to 259,520 units.
In the domestic market, sedan sales totaled 13,568 units, including 4,436 Sonatas, 3,933 Grandeurs, and 3,628 Avantes.
Recreational vehicle sales reached 18,756 units, led by 3,081 Palisades, 2,972 Tucsons, 2,876 Konas, 2,679 Santa Fes, and 1,171 Caspers.
In the commercial vehicle segment, the company sold 4,634 Porters and 1,781 Starias, with medium and large buses and trucks totaling 1,122 units.
Genesis, Hyundai's luxury brand, sold 6,942 vehicles, including 2,247 G80s, 1,689 GV80s, and 2,206 GV70s.
"Sales declined last month due to fewer business days caused by the Lunar New Year holiday," a Hyundai Motor (005380) spokesperson said. "We will continue executing optimal sales strategies, including expanding eco-friendly vehicle sales and strengthening our hybrid lineup."
