KT (030200) announced on the 27th that it won awards in two categories at the iF Design Award 2026—the Branding & Communication category for KT Square's media art video "Tikitaka Choreography" and the UI category for the "KT UX Design System."
The iF Design Award, organized by Germany's International Forum, is considered one of the world's three major design awards alongside Germany's Red Dot Design Award and the United States' IDEA. Winners are selected through comprehensive evaluation of differentiation and impact across nine categories, including product design, package design, branding & communication design, concept, service, system & process design, and user experience (UX) and interface (UI). This year's competition featured approximately 10,000 entries from 68 countries worldwide.
The "Tikitaka Choreography" video, which won in the Branding & Communication category, expresses KT's AI brand "K Intelligence" through distinctly Korean yet sophisticated visual aesthetics. The work depicts the new beginning of KT Gwanghwamun Building West through dynamic dance and was first unveiled as the opening video at the KT Square lighting ceremony held at KT Gwanghwamun Building West in September last year.
The video utilized KT Square's dual screens and applied anamorphic 3D effects—a technique that compresses and expands images using optical lenses or digital technology—to maximize spatial depth and enhance immersion.
To commemorate the iF Design Award win, KT will feature special screenings of the "Tikitaka Choreography" video throughout March. The video can be viewed at KT Square on the exterior wall of KT Gwanghwamun Building West, located at Gwanghwamun Square.
The "KT UX Design System," which won in the UI category, is an integrated design system created to provide consistent user experience across KT's various digital services. It received high marks for establishing an efficient collaborative environment that goes beyond visual guidelines, enabling designers and developers to communicate and work together in real time.
The system demonstrated scalability in maintaining consistent user experience across service environments including AI Agent, earning recognition for its value as a design standard for future Agentic AI environments.
"We are honored that KT Square's first content has won at a globally prestigious design award," said Yoon Tae-sik, Executive Vice President of KT's Brand Strategy Division. "We will continue to present differentiated content unique to KT Square as an open global media platform, providing customers with enjoyable and diverse brand experiences."
