Smilegate announced on the 26th that it has implemented the first update for Season 2 of its massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) "Road Nine," adding new character growth content and a world-scale hunting ground.
The update introduces the "Equipment Awakening" system, a core growth feature for Season 2. Equipment Awakening allows players to elevate existing gear stats to the next level. Users can proceed with awakening after completing all appraisal options to +1 enhancement or higher on hero-grade equipment or above. Awakening weapons and auxiliary equipment grants attack power and the new stat "Anti-Demon Power."
Smilegate also unveiled "Tower of Fierce Battle." Players engage in consecutive combat waves by defeating monsters within the tower, accumulating points to reach certain thresholds and randomly acquiring skills for varied battle experiences each time. Ranked rewards are distributed accordingly, and all users on servers where the top-ranked character in each tier—lower, intermediate, and upper—resides receive special buffs. The Tower of Fierce Battle becomes accessible upon reaching weapon mastery level 50.
Additionally, the company added "Land of Demise," a new hunting ground within the "Cransia" continent where users from the same world compete. Land of Demise is the first region where the Anti-Demon Power stat applies and currently represents the highest difficulty hunting ground. Players can hunt monsters in this area to obtain "Destruction Refining Stones" and "Demise Refining Stones" for refining auxiliary equipment and legendary or mythic-grade gear. The exclusive currency "Remnants of Demise" can be exchanged through the world merchant for various items including "Demise Rune Summon Tickets"—which can yield new mythic-grade runes—new refining stones, and "Blood Diamonds."
Three events accompany the update. Until the 25th of next month, users can obtain various rewards including four types of new refining stones through daily login, and receive new refining stones and "Master Armor Option Enhancement Stone Boxes" upon mission completion. These boxes randomly yield legendary-grade option enhancement stones based on probability. From the 27th through the 8th of next month, users can log in daily to receive 280 summon tickets and "Lucky Pouch Fireworks" items that provide special buff effects.
