Naver announced on the 26th that it has introduced a beta version of its "Shopping AI Agent" service on its artificial intelligence shopping app "Naver Plus Store."
The Shopping AI Agent version 1.0 focuses on supporting users' shopping exploration through product information summaries, comparisons, and review analysis based on Naver's extensive data. When users enter specific shopping keywords, the AI agent quickly suggests product characteristics and shopping navigation guides. For example, when a user searches for "sofa," the AI agent analyzes personalized shopping history to summarize various purchasing tips based on number of users, space size, and materials, while introducing suitable brands.
For more detailed exploration, users can specify desired products through conversation with the AI agent. When customers state specific shopping purposes such as "recommend a sofa for my newlywed home, I live with a dog," the AI agent analyzes product specifications and purchase reviews to explore multiple product categories and suggest optimized items.

Naver is providing the Shopping AI Agent function primarily for digital, living, and lifestyle categories in this beta 1.0 version, with plans to expand to beauty and food categories within the first half of the year. The company also plans to gradually enhance features including real-time shopping trend analysis, automatic related product recommendations, and cart additions to enable the Shopping AI Agent to operate across the entire shopping journey.
Naver has organically connected sub-agents that deliver optimal performance at each stage to efficiently handle complex processes from product exploration to comparison and recommendations. According to Naver, the sub-agents are built as multi-agents and utilize the best-performing models among both in-house and external models.
A Naver spokesperson explained, "This is significant in that we have secured 'Shopping Intelligence,' a commerce-specialized large language model (LLM) trained on data accumulated in our shopping ecosystem including pricing, delivery information, product attributes, and user preferences, through our own technology, simultaneously improving service operational efficiency and execution capability."
Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon said, "Amid complex information and diverse choices, we will enable users to enjoy smarter shopping experiences by having the shopping agent accompany them throughout their entire shopping journey. We will strive to create new business and creative environments through an AI convergence ecosystem that organically connects commerce, content, and data centered on the Shopping AI Agent."
