South Korea's three major telecommunications companies will demonstrate their artificial intelligence capabilities at MWC25, the world's largest mobile communications exhibition in Europe. Their strategy combines AI models optimized for individuals and enterprises with K-culture elements that have gained popularity overseas to attract visitors.
According to industry sources on January 22, SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus will participate in MWC25, to be held in Barcelona, Spain, from March 2-5 (local time), showcasing innovative AI technologies.
SK Telecom will present its "full-stack AI" competitiveness—spanning AI infrastructure, models, and services—at a 992-square-meter exhibition hall under the theme "SKT's AI Creating Infinite Possibilities." The company will display "AI DC Infra Manager," an intelligent platform that integrates and efficiently manages various data within AI data centers. It will also demonstrate "A.X K1" (A.dot X K1), a large-scale AI model that has advanced to the second phase of the government's proprietary AI foundation model project.
KT will unveil "Agentic Fabric," an integrated system that implements AI transformation optimized for enterprise customer environments. LG Uplus plans to introduce "ixi-O," which is evolving into a voice-based hyper-personalized agentic AI.
Korean telecom companies are also expected to draw attention in the physical AI sector, which has emerged as a global topic. SK Telecom's exhibition will feature a "Digital Twin Platform" that precisely replicates the real world to support physical AI decision-making and planning, a "Robot Training Platform" that helps physical AI learn necessary sensory capabilities, and "Synapse Go," a vision solution providing high-performance analysis of first-person perspective field footage. Under the core theme of "Human-Centered AI," LG Uplus will present a future vision of how physical AI will transform customers' daily lives.
The telecom companies have decided to emphasize Korean identity in their exhibition halls, considering the rising global popularity of K-brands. KT will create an exhibition space themed around Gwanghwamun Square, featuring realistic reproductions of symbolic landmarks including the King Sejong statue, KT Gwanghwamun Building West, and Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. The space will also offer augmented reality dance programs with K-pop idols and AI-powered hanbok virtual try-on experiences against a Gwanghwamun backdrop.
This year's MWC will bring together more than 2,900 companies from approximately 200 countries to showcase cutting-edge technologies including AI, cloud, and 5G. LG Uplus CEO Hong Bum-shik is drawing attention as an opening keynote speaker, alongside global executives including AT&T CEO John Stankey, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon, and Nokia CEO Justin Hotard.
