Police were dispatched to Kakao's headquarters in Jeju after an online post threatened to bomb the facility, but found nothing suspicious.
According to Jeju fire authorities on the 17th, police special forces and firefighters were deployed to Kakao's headquarters in the Jeju City Advanced Science and Technology Complex at around 12:57 p.m. the previous day after the threatening post was discovered online. Two employees inside the building were evacuated while authorities conducted a search of the premises.
Police reported "no unusual findings" at the scene.
A similar threat was reported in Jeju in December last year, but no irregularities were found at that time either.
