Korean Game Publishers Launch Lunar New Year Events

Korean game publishers are rolling out various in-game events for the Lunar New Year holiday, offering players special items and rewards.

NCSoft is hosting events across its game portfolio, including Lineage Remaster, where players can purchase traditional Korean hanbok costume transformation items and earn growth items by defeating special monsters that appear at 8 p.m. daily. Lineage 2 players can earn experience points and "New Year Coins" in a special five-person party dungeon through Feb. 4.

Wemade is running themed events across five flagship titles. "Legend of Mir 2" features kite-flying and fortune basket crafting events through Feb. 4, while "Legend of Mir 3" offers the "Trial of the 12 Constellations" event during the same period. "Mir 4" runs an attendance event through Feb. 11.

Nexon is holding Lunar New Year celebrations across 12 online games. MapleStory's "Tell Us Your New Year Wish" event runs Jan. 16-22, offering special chair items and VIP sauna passes for completing missions. "EA SPORTS FC Online" features a burning event from Jan. 14-18 with player packs and discount coupons as rewards.

Netmarble's MMORPG "Raven 2" offers attendance rewards including the new "Crimson Messenger" costume and various summoning boxes through Jan. 25. Collection RPG "Seven Knights Reverse" runs a special summon event through Jan. 19.

Com2uS is hosting events in "Summoners War: Sky Arena" and other titles, featuring daily lucky pouch rewards, limited-time shops, and special summoning opportunities through Feb. 1.
