Kakao is partnering with OKPos to integrate data collected from offline stores with digital services.
Kakao announced on the 13th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with OKPos Co., Ltd. for service collaboration based on offline store data. Key executives from both companies attended the signing ceremony held the previous day, where they discussed service collaboration plans connecting online and offline channels and the scope of their respective roles.
Through this agreement, both companies plan to explore directions for data-driven collaboration models by linking information accumulated during offline store operations with digital services. Kakao will examine various possibilities for connecting offline store operating environments with digital services and plans to gradually expand its data-based service model through partnerships with various offline business operators and solution providers. OKPos also plans to progressively expand its data utilization scope and service touchpoints through collaboration with external platforms, building on its existing online service expansion strategy.
"We have continuously pursued online service expansion based on offline store data, and this agreement marks an opportunity to advance that effort further," said Kim Jung-yoon, CEO of OKPos.
