NHN will release collection RPG 'Abyssdia' later this month.
NHN announced on the 11th that it held a media briefing for Abyssdia at its Pangyo headquarters in Gyeonggi Province on the 10th. Abyssdia was developed by domestic studio Ringgames and published by NHN. The game launched first in Japan last August and is set for global release, including South Korea, at the end of this month.
Abyssdia is an action RPG where players take on the role of a 'Tuner' with special abilities, deploying up to four 'Vanguards' in battle to defend a world under threat. The development team crafted individual story arcs for each character and focused heavily on creating elements that allow players to bond with their characters.
"We will compete on the strength of gameplay and the appeal of our characters and story," said Jung Joong-jae, Head of NHN's Game Business Division. "Realistically, it's difficult to compete with Chinese game companies on capital or character model quality. Ultimately, games need to be fun, and they need stories and characters that captivate players."

The introduction of 'Let's Eat Together' content, which allows players to have meal dates with game characters, is designed to help players build emotional connections with characters. Renowned Japanese anime voice actors have been cast for character dubbing. Korean voice dubbing has not yet been confirmed.
Combat is also cited as a key attraction of Abyssdia. Battles feature a four-character cooperative system where all characters fight simultaneously on the battlefield, with tag-action mechanics allowing players to swap characters based on the situation. The game offers diverse content to suit different player preferences. Players seeking growth and challenge can find satisfaction through 'Abyss Invader,' a competitive mode based on boss raids, and 'Infinity Abyss,' a challenge-focused mode.
Abyssdia is currently accepting pre-registrations ahead of its launch. More information is available on the official website.
