A former Coupang employee accessed personal information of 33.67 million users and viewed approximately 140 million records including delivery addresses, according to a government investigation released Monday.
Choi Woo-hyuk, Director General of Information Protection and Network Policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, announced the findings at the Seoul Government Complex in Jongno-gu.
The joint public-private investigation analyzed 25.6 terabytes of web access logs containing 664.2 billion data records dating from November 29 of last year. The probe confirmed that user names and email addresses totaling 33.67 million records were exposed through Coupang's "Edit My Information" page.
