Kolon Benit announced on the 9th that it will designate 2026 as the foundational year to strengthen its manufacturing digital transformation (DX) capabilities centered on autonomous manufacturing, launching related business initiatives in earnest.
The autonomous manufacturing process defined by Kolon Benit is an environment that integrates manufacturing process data—including workers' skilled experience—with management information such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM) into a single data platform. Based on this foundation, the company aims to realize unmanned factories where artificial intelligence (AI) determines and controls optimal operating conditions and quality, enabling factories to learn and operate autonomously.
Kolon Benit's unmanned factory is implemented around "Alcocoa-na," the company's proprietary manufacturing DX package product. Alcocoa-na is an integrated solution encompassing an information technology (IT) platform that covers all manufacturing domains, from automation equipment layers to AI services and digital twin-based remote integrated control systems. Additionally, a team of manufacturing DX consulting specialists provides all services necessary for digital transformation at manufacturing sites.
Over the past three years, Kolon Benit has driven digital innovation across Kolon Group's manufacturing subsidiaries. The company has progressively applied autonomous manufacturing processes to Kolon Industries, Kolon Glotech, and Kolon ENP, among others. Kolon Industries' Gimcheon Plant 2 serves as a representative case. Kolon Benit applied quality prediction, vision AI, and advanced process control to the plant's phenolic resin production process. Through DX consulting for Kolon Industries' Gimcheon Plant 2, Kolon Benit achieved simultaneous improvements in quality stability and productivity.
