NCSoft's "Lineage Classic" will launch in Korea and Taiwan with approximately four days of free access.
NCSoft announced Thursday that it will begin pre-open service for Lineage Classic, a PC game recreating the early 2000s version of "Lineage," starting at 8 p.m. Friday in Korea and Taiwan. The game features four character classes including Monarch, Knight, Elf, and Wizard, along with early-version content such as Talking Island, Dragon Valley, and Giran regions, as well as an interface familiar to Lineage IP users.
Lineage Classic will be available free to all users in Korea and Taiwan from Friday through Monday. Starting at 10 a.m. on February 11, players will need to purchase a subscription (29,700 won, approximately $21) to continue playing. Details about the monthly subscription service will be available on the official website starting Friday.
NCSoft is also hosting a "Rare Character Name Time Attack" event through March 25 to celebrate the launch. Players who complete designated missions such as "first to reach a specific level" or "landing the final blow on a boss monster" can claim server-specific character nicknames including class names like Monarch, Knight, Elf, and Wizard, as well as famous boss monster names like Death Knight, Kurtz, Baphomet, Black Elder, and Drake.
The company will also offer premium benefits for users playing Lineage Classic at PC bangs (internet cafes). Benefits include a "Suspicious Aura" buff that provides additional defense, access to PC bang-exclusive dungeons such as Talking Island Dungeon and Gludin Dungeon, and "Pixie Feathers" that can be exchanged for various consumable items based on play time.
