Samsung Securities' (016360) official YouTube channel has surpassed 3 million subscribers, becoming the first Korean financial firm to reach the milestone. The achievement is being attributed to a successful content strategy leveraging generative artificial intelligence (AI).
According to Samsung Securities on Wednesday, the channel produces and uploads approximately 1,500 pieces of content annually, blending financial information with entertainment and trend elements. Weekly views average more than 1.325 million.
Samsung Securities cited its active use of AI technology as a key success factor, deploying the technology to deliver financial information — which can be difficult and complex by nature — in a more intuitive and immersive way.
A representative example is the advertising video "Scene's One Move," released last year. The video had surpassed 3 million cumulative views as of Wednesday. Other content that drew attention with hundreds of thousands to over a million views included the trot song "Upward Trend Life," which used self-produced music; the K-pop style content "Lion Boys"; and "You Believed in Me," which presented will-substitute trusts in the form of a ballad music video.
The "Individual Savings Account (ISA) Investment User Manual" series, released in the first half of this year, also recorded over 100,000 views for every episode. Rock ballad-style music videos produced using AI-generated music and visuals on the theme of Returning Investor Account (RIA) — including "Where RIA Is" and "RIA to Open" — also received positive reviews.
"We have continuously tried new formats to deliver finance in an easy and entertaining way," a Samsung Securities official said. "Going forward, we will lead the financial content market based on AI technology and differentiated content planning capabilities."
Meanwhile, Samsung Securities is holding customer participation events to mark the 3 million subscriber milestone. The "Find 300" event invites participants to photograph and submit images of the number "300" found in everyday life, such as on addresses or signboards. A "Lucky 3-DAY" quiz event using the number 3 will also be held on the 23rd and 30th for one hour starting at 3 p.m.
