U.S. President Donald Trump received more than 100 million won in pension payments from the Screen Actors Guild last year, thanks to his past acting career including a cameo appearance in the film "Home Alone 2," it has been confirmed. The pension has continued to be paid even after he voluntarily left the union.
According to U.S. business outlet Fortune on Monday, Trump's 2025 financial disclosure report released by the White House stated that the president received $77,808 (about 120 million won) in pension from the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) last year.
He also received $8,724 (about 13 million won) in pension from the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). SAG and AFTRA merged in 2012 and now operate as SAG-AFTRA, but their pension funds are managed separately and were listed individually in the report.
The pension stems from Trump's acting career in the early 1990s. Under the SAG pension system, earning above a certain income threshold through film, TV, and broadcast appearances accumulates pension credits, which then confer eligibility to receive a pension. According to Fortune, Trump joined SAG in 1989 and met the pension eligibility requirements.
He appeared as a cameo in the 1992 film "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York," playing a role in which he gave directions to the protagonist Macaulay Culkin (as Kevin) at New York's Plaza Hotel, appearing for about seven seconds.
He also reported residual payments from past appearances in the film "Zoolander," the sitcom "The Nanny," the drama "Sex and the City," and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." However, income from each of these works was less than $200 (about 270,000 won).
Trump is no longer a member of the actors' union. After the union began expulsion proceedings following the January 6, 2021 U.S. Capitol riot, he voluntarily withdrew ahead of a disciplinary committee review.
At the time, Trump said in his withdrawal letter, "I no longer wish to be associated with your union," adding, "You have done nothing for me."
However, under the actors' union rules, which maintain pension payments even after withdrawal for those who have already acquired eligibility, the pension continues to be paid. In fact, Trump was found to have received about $100,000 (about 150 million won) in pension from SAG in 2024 as well.
Meanwhile, according to this financial disclosure report, Trump's annual income for 2025 was tallied at more than $2.2 billion (about 3.4 trillion won). A significant portion of this is known to have come from cryptocurrency businesses operated by his family, among others.
