Ivanka Trump, the eldest daughter of US President Donald Trump, was an assassination target of a pro-Iran armed group, US media reported, with the operative having obtained blueprints and location information of her Florida residence.
The New York Post reported Tuesday, citing multiple sources, that Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawud al-Saadi, 32, a commander of the Iraqi pro-Iran militia Kataib Hezbollah, had targeted Ivanka Trump for assassination.
According to the report, al-Saadi had pursued a plan to retaliate against the Trump family following the 2020 death of Qassem Soleimani, former commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, in a US drone strike.
Notably, he had reportedly obtained maps and blueprints showing the location of Ivanka's Florida residence. He posted satellite maps of the area surrounding her home on social media, leaving threatening messages such as "Neither the luxury mansion nor the Secret Service will protect you" and "We are in the surveillance and analysis stage. Revenge is only a matter of time."
Entifadh Qanbar, a former employee at the Iraqi embassy in Washington, DC, told local media that al-Saadi had been going around saying, "Just as Trump burned down our home, we must kill Ivanka and burn down Trump's home."
Al-Saadi is known to have served as a key operative in both the IRGC and Kataib Hezbollah. He reportedly maintained close ties with Esmail Ghaani, Soleimani's successor, and received funding and organizational support.
The US Department of Justice said al-Saadi is accused of directing or coordinating 18 terrorist attacks and attempted attacks targeting Jewish people in the US and Europe. These include a synagogue bombing in Belgium, a knife attack in London, and a shooting at the US consulate in Toronto.
Al-Saadi was arrested in Turkey on the 15th and extradited to the United States. He has been indicted by the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York on charges including providing support to a terrorist organization and conspiracy to use explosives.
Meanwhile, Ivanka Trump converted to Judaism in 2009 upon marrying Jewish real estate developer Jared Kushner and served as a senior adviser to the White House during the first Trump administration.
