The artificial intelligence (AI) video platform Kling AI is enjoying explosive popularity as so-called "baseball stadium goddess" videos go viral on social media worldwide.
Kling AI announced Monday that it has reached No. 1 in the overall Apple App Store rankings in 42 countries. The platform topped the charts in major European markets including Germany and Portugal, Latin American countries such as Brazil, Southeast Asian markets including Thailand and the Philippines, and Middle Eastern markets such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The surge is largely driven by the global popularity of the "Korean Baseball" effect, based on the latest video generation model, the Kling 3.0 series. When users upload a single photo of themselves, a short video that resembles an actual baseball stadium broadcast is automatically generated. The tool realistically renders scenes such as a person sitting in the stands holding cheering gear or being momentarily caught by a broadcast camera under stadium lights.

Users have particularly praised the consistency of facial features, cinematic texture, subtle facial expressions, and stable motion. The platform has been credited with lowering the entry barrier to AI video production, as users can create trending videos at once by selecting a template within the platform, without any separate video editing skills.
Kling AI has surpassed a cumulative 60 million users and 600 million generated videos. Its corporate clients also number around 30,000 across fields including advertising, animation, gaming, and film production. "Generative AI video technology has moved beyond a mere experimental stage and is rapidly spreading into the mass consumer market by combining with social media memes," a Kling AI official said.
