U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States could continue striking Iran for another two weeks, according to an interview released Tuesday.
In an interview with the U.S. current affairs program "Full Measure" aired that day, Trump responded to a question asking whether combat operations could be considered over by saying, "No, I didn't say that," adding, "We could go into Iran for two more weeks and hit every target." Trump stressed, "There were specific targets we wanted, and about 70% of them have been completed. But there are other targets we could strike. That would just be the 'final touch.'" Trump also reaffirmed that securing Iran's highly enriched uranium remains a key priority, emphasizing that the U.S. "will eventually get hold of" the material.
The interview was released that morning. In the afternoon, Trump wrote on Truth Social, "I just read a response from the so-called 'delegation' from Iran. I don't like it. It is completely unacceptable." Tensions between the two sides are escalating after the U.S. delivered a proposal to end the conflict and received a reply from Iran that Trump flatly rejected.
