Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed support for US President Donald Trump's naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, warning that "Iran's ceasefire could be reversed in a very short time."
According to Israeli media outlets including Channel 12 and the Times of Israel on the 13th (local time), Netanyahu said at a cabinet meeting that "President Trump decided on a naval blockade after Iran violated the rules of the Pakistan peace talks," adding that "we support this firm stance and continue to cooperate with the United States."
Netanyahu said he received direct contact from US Vice President JD Vance, who had participated in the ceasefire negotiations with Iran, and placed responsibility for the breakdown of talks on Iran.
"The US side could not overlook Iran's blatant violation of the conditions for entering negotiations," he said. "The original agreement was an immediate ceasefire and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, but Iran did not implement this, and the US could not accept it."
He also emphasized that eliminating uranium enrichment is the top priority of the negotiations. "President Trump and the United States have made clear that their top priority is to remove all enriched materials and ensure that no enrichment takes place in Iran for years, or even decades to come," Netanyahu said. "This is America's goal, and of course it is an important issue for us as well."
