Peyman Sadat, Iran's Ambassador to Japan, ruled out the possibility of dialogue at the current stage, stating that "there is no room for negotiation as long as attacks by the United States and Israel continue."
At a press conference in Tokyo on the 3rd, Ambassador Sadat said regarding U.S.-Israeli military actions that "there is no justification whatsoever," claiming that "the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei is an act of terrorism." He also urged that "it is the UN Security Council and the international community that must stop the aggression."
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for oil shipments, he took a hardline stance, stating that "a nation facing an existential threat will not hesitate to exercise its geopolitical power."
On the damage to civilian facilities in neighboring Middle Eastern countries during Iran's response, he explained that "the targets were U.S. military bases and assets."
