US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said Wednesday that the ongoing military operation in Iran is "a clear, destructive, and decisive mission."
"This is not Iraq. This is not endless," Hegseth said during a briefing at the Pentagon with Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Dan Caine. The briefing was the first press conference since the US and Israel launched full-scale airstrikes on Iran.
Hegseth defined the objectives of the military operation as "destroying missile threats, destroying the navy, and eliminating nuclear weapons."
The United States has been conducting "Operation Epic Fury," a large-scale military operation targeting Iran, since the 28th of last month, now in its third day.
