Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang declared on February 25 that "computing demand is growing exponentially due to advances in artificial intelligence technology," adding that "computing is revenue."
His remarks signal that demand for AI chips powering inference capabilities is exploding as AI evolves into agentic forms that autonomously perform tasks.
Following Nvidia's strong earnings and Huang's comments, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix—suppliers of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) to Nvidia—saw their shares surge more than 7% on February 26.
Announcing fiscal 2026 results, Huang said agentic AI has reached its "ChatGPT moment," calling it an "inflection point." Just as ChatGPT attracted 100 million users within two months of OpenAI's November 2022 launch, agentic AI has now reached the threshold of monetization, he explained.
Nvidia's fiscal fourth-quarter revenue (November 2024 to January 2025) hit a record $68.127 billion, underscoring this trend.
Following Huang's remarks, Samsung Electronics closed at 218,000 won, up 7.13%. SK Hynix finished at 1,099,000 won, gaining 7.96%.
The surge in these heavyweight stocks lifted the KOSPI 3.67% to 6,307.27, breaching the 6,300 level just one day after crossing 6,000.
