
As the war sparked by Russia's invasion of Ukraine reaches its fourth anniversary, large-scale solidarity rallies are being held across Europe and the United States. Participants condemned Russia's invasion and urged their governments to continue political, military, and humanitarian support for Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian media outlet Kyiv Post on February 23 (local time), Ukrainian and German civic groups in Berlin are scheduled to march through central Berlin on February 24 (local time), the fourth anniversary of the invasion, under the slogan "For the Future of Europe." Organizers stated, "The outcome of the Russia-Ukraine war will affect Europe's security framework," adding that the march aims "to show that Germany stands with Ukraine."
In London, the Ukrainian Embassy in the UK is holding a public memorial event at Trafalgar Square. The organizers explained, "We are holding this event to emphasize that the international community's attention must not turn away from Ukraine, even as geopolitical priorities shift."
In Prague's Old Town Square, a rally was held under the theme "Ukraine Together." Czech President Petr Pavel told the thousands gathered, "What form of peace is achieved will determine Europe's long-term stability."
In Paris, some 2,000 people marched demanding the seizure of frozen Russian assets and continued military support. About 1,000 people joined a march in Luxembourg City voicing the same demands.
In Budapest, an exhibition featuring drawings by Ukrainian children affected by the war was held. In Milan, City Hall was illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, among other solidarity events.
In Washington, D.C., a rally was held calling for continued U.S. government support for Ukraine. Rally participants emphasized, "Ukraine is holding the front line on behalf of democratic nations."
