Discussions between Russian President Vladimir Putin, US Special Envoy Steve Witkov Donald Trump, and President Jared Kushner Trump's oldest son-in-law have been going on for more than 2 days (local time) for more than 4 hours. Prior to the meeting, President Putin said that Europe was interfering with US-led efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
According to CNN on the same day, negotiations have continued until 4 p.m. EST on the 2nd. Prior to the meeting, the Kremlin announced that there would be no time limit and negotiations would take place as needed.
Prior to the meeting on this day, President Putin criticized “they (European countries) are on the side of war without a peace agenda” at an investment forum. He criticized that “some of the changes they are trying to make to President Trump's proposal are aimed at stopping the entire peace process,” and “they are putting forward demands that Russia can never accept even though they are familiar with it.” At the same time, he pointed out that in this way, European countries want to shift responsibility for the collapse of Ukraine's peace implementation process to Russia.
He also warned that “Russia does not want a war with Europe, but if Europe starts a war, it will end so soon that Russia will have no one left to negotiate with.”
