Hanil Cement said on the 29th that it has obtained a patent for a new technology combining artificial intelligence (AI) with apartment floor construction. The patented technology is an "AI-based mobile silo device."
The mobile silo is a key piece of equipment used in pouring floor mortar (a mixture of cement and sand), the finishing stage of apartment construction. It automatically mixes "dry mortar" with water inside the equipment and pumps it up to high floors in a single operation, allowing even large floors to be finished easily and quickly.
The core of this patent is that the mobile silo is equipped with an "AI control system." When pouring floor mortar, the AI automatically controls the water mixing ratio and pumping pressure inside the mobile silo—tasks previously handled manually by workers. The AI adjusts the water mixing ratio in real time by taking into account environmental variables such as seasonal temperature and humidity, maintaining a consistent mixture viscosity. It also automatically calculates the appropriate pumping pressure for the height of the floor being poured, supporting stable pouring.
Hanil Cement expects that applying this patented technology at construction sites will reduce the variation in mortar quality that had depended on workers' experience and skill.
Hanil Cement plans to pursue the commercialization of this patented technology to further widen the technology gap in the floor Remital (dry mortar) market. The company has continuously secured patents related to mobile silo technology. In 2022, it obtained a patent for technology equipping mobile silos with a carbon dioxide (CO₂) injection device, and in 2024, it developed and patented a precision measuring device that helps improve mortar mixture quality.
An official at Hanil Cement said, "We will continue to develop innovative technologies not only in high-quality new product development but also in construction solutions to resolve difficulties at construction sites."
