Korea Investment & Securities said on the 27th that it has launched a domestic stock trading service within the app of cryptocurrency exchange Coinone. Under the structure, users can connect to Korea's Web Trading System (WTS) through simple authentication in the "Stock Investment" tab of the Coinone app and trade stocks. As the first collaborative output following the two companies' strategic partnership, the service is seen as improving investor accessibility, since everything from opening a stock account to trading is now possible using only the existing Coinone app.
Trading is available without downloading Korea Investment & Securities' Mobile Trading System (MTS) app. However, investors who do not already have a Korea Investment & Securities account need to open a new one. The company has also arranged a promotion offering 10,000 won in Naver Pay to investors who open a new Korea Investment & Securities account through the Coinone app. Kwak Jin, head of the eBiz Division at Korea Investment & Securities, said, "We prepared this to provide an intuitive and convenient asset management environment for investors who move between the cryptocurrency and stock markets," adding, "We will continue to support customers in experiencing differentiated financial services by expanding partnerships with competitive digital platforms."
