Toss Securities said on the 21st that its artificial intelligence (AI)-based earnings call service for domestic companies surpassed 600,000 cumulative users within three months of its launch. The milestone comes three months after the company expanded the earnings call service from overseas companies to domestic companies in April this year.
Earnings briefings by domestic companies have been considered an area difficult for individual investors to access in real time, as they are primarily directed at institutional investors. Drawing on its experience operating earnings calls for overseas companies, Toss Securities expanded the service to allow real-time access to presentations by domestic corporate executives.
New users who encountered the service for the first time through domestic corporate earnings calls totaled approximately 200,000. The company with the most participants was Samsung Electronics. Some 190,000 users accessed Samsung Electronics' first-quarter earnings call.
The service applies real-time Korean speech-to-text conversion technology and AI summary features developed in-house by Toss Securities. Investors can check executives' presentation audio in real time as a Korean-language script and also view summaries organizing the key points.
The service also provides analytical features for use before and after earnings calls. Before a presentation, it shows a "Popular Earnings Call Ranking" reflecting real-time advance voting participation rates and "Points to Watch," in which AI organizes the key elements of the earnings announcement. After a presentation, it provides whether the results beat or missed market estimates, share price movements immediately after the announcement, and a one-line key summary. The company said the service is designed so that earnings announcements can be used as investment analysis material rather than merely a one-time broadcast.
Toss Securities plans to provide earnings calls for some 70 major domestic companies during the second-quarter earnings season. "The market's response to domestic corporate earnings calls is an indicator showing the information gap that individual investors had felt," a Toss Securities official said. "Based on our own technological capabilities, we will advance the earnings call service and develop it into analytical content that can be used throughout the entire investment process."
