Hyosung (004800) said on the 21st that it delivered 300 sets of samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) and sambok juk (summer nutritious porridge) for national merit recipients to the Seoul Southern Veterans Office ahead of Jungbok, one of the hottest days of the Korean summer, on the 20th.
Hyosung explained that the health meals were prepared with the hope that elderly national merit recipients, who are prone to fatigue in the extreme heat, would spend a healthy summer. The samgyetang and sambok juk were individually packaged for convenient cooking, consumption and storage, and were delivered to each national merit recipient household.
Since 2016, Hyosung has provided items needed for each season to national merit recipients twice a year, conveying its gratitude and respect. Last winter, it delivered sets of red bean porridge and nutritious porridge to mark Dongji, the winter solstice.
Meanwhile, Hyosung continues to carry out various social contribution activities to honor and improve the welfare of veterans who devoted themselves to the country. These include sponsoring the "Nara Sarang Bogeumjari" project to improve the housing environment of war veterans, sponsoring a project to improve the housing environment of descendants of independence patriots living in Uzbekistan, and supporting outings for national merit recipients and veterans' families.
