Karrot Real Estate, the property service of Karrot, said on the 20th that it has revamped its existing "Simple Property Registry Analysis" service and launched the "Easy-to-Read Property Registry" service.
The service began in November 2022 and has been improved several times based on user feedback accumulated over that period. This revamp focuses on helping users intuitively understand the complex and difficult information contained in property registration documents and accurately assess the safety of a listing on their own.
When a Karrot customer finds a home they like on Karrot Real Estate, they can press the "Get Easy-to-Read Property Registry" button at the bottom of the listing's detail page to view analysis results immediately, without having to enter a separate address. At 990 won per case, the service allows users to check risk factors before signing a contract in advance, reducing the cost burden. Even for listings not registered on Karrot, anyone can look up a property through the "Property Registry Analysis" tab on the home screen as long as they know the address.
The Easy-to-Read Property Registry checks listing safety around three main items. Based on the property registration document, it thoroughly examines whether the size of the mortgage on the home affects deposit protection, whether the landlord has any history of failing to return deposits or any seizure history due to loan delinquency, and whether there is any potential for legal disputes over ownership. Users can also receive results on whether the property is eligible for guarantee insurance and a virtual screening for available jeonse (a Korean lease system requiring a large lump-sum deposit instead of monthly rent) loan products.
In addition, the service provides a "Deposit Protection Action Plan" tailored to the characteristics of each listing. It delivers, in checklist form, tips that tenants easily overlook, such as the timing of a move-in report, precautions when transferring one's address, and how to file a claim for distribution.
"This service revamp was carried out to build an environment where users can carefully examine safety without information asymmetry from the listing-search stage," a Karrot Real Estate official said. "Going forward, we will continue to advance the service so that users can resolve anxiety during the real estate transaction process and prepare contracts with peace of mind."
