Shinhan Securities said on the 15th that new account openings for 'SOL LINK,' which allows banking transactions and stock investment in a single account, surpassed 100,000 within 10 days of its launch.
SOL LINK accounts can be opened on 'Shinhan Super SOL,' the integrated platform of Shinhan Financial Group. The account is distinguished by linking the deposit and withdrawal functions of a bank account with the stock trading service of a securities account.
Based on online transactions, fees are 0.01% for domestic stocks and 0.07% for U.S. stocks. The service enhances convenience by allowing users to trade stocks without separately moving funds between their bank account and securities account.
The 'Weekly Tesla Model Y Giveaway Event' held to mark the launch has produced its first and second winners. The drawing is held weekly among participants who trade at least 1 million won in domestic stocks and maintain a balance of at least 1 million won. A total of 14 people will receive a Tesla Model Y by September 30.
Account openers will also receive My Shinhan Points or coupons for the delivery application 'Ttaenggyeoyo.' The amount is determined randomly, ranging from a minimum of 3,000 won to a maximum of 1 million won.
Investors who are using Shinhan Securities for the first time or who have not traded domestic stocks in the past six months will receive domestic stock investment coupons. New investors can receive coupons worth 20,000 won, while dormant investors can receive coupons worth 15,000 won.
Domestic stock fee benefits are also available. When new or dormant investors apply for the event, online domestic stock trading fees are waived for six months. If they trade domestic stocks during that period, the waiver period is extended by another six months, allowing benefits for up to one year. During the extension period, users must bear fees charged by related institutions.
"The SOL LINK account is a product designed to enhance the convenience of financial life by connecting banking transactions and stock investment into one," a Shinhan Securities official said. "Having surpassed 100,000 accounts in a short time since launch, we will continue to expand tangible benefits and services."
