Lotte Mart said on the 12th that it opened its 16th local store, "Lotte Mart Tay Ninh," in the southern Vietnamese city of Tay Ninh on the 9th. It marks the first new store opening in about three years, since the Westlake Hanoi store opened in 2023.
The Tay Ninh store spans 2,165 square meters (about 655 pyeong) from the first basement level to the first floor above ground and applies a small-to-mid-sized grocery model. Tay Ninh is an industrial and logistics hub located about 90 kilometers northwest of Ho Chi Minh City. Industrial complex development and corporate investment continue there, and tourist destinations are nearby.
About 88% of the entire store is filled with grocery products such as fresh food, processed food, and prepared food. Products with proven local sales and key items were concentrated on the shelves.
At the prepared food section "Yorihada Kitchen," K-food such as gimbap, tteokbokki, and dakgangjeong make up more than 30% of all prepared food, and about 300 varieties are sold, including sushi and local Vietnamese dishes.
At "K-Noodle Station" and "K-Grocery Shop," which gather Korean ramen and processed foods, about 1,500 Korean products are on offer. The fresh food section features more than 100 products from the private brand "FRESH 365." It also sells farm-direct produce such as bananas, potatoes, and paprika, as well as seafood and livestock products. About 400 cosmetics products are also sold, including K-beauty brands such as VT and Tirtir.
The store also houses Lotteria and Lotte Cinema, along with a hospital, game center, and kids' café. The plan is to combine movies, dining, and leisure facilities around food sales to increase the dwell time of family customers.
Shin Ju-baek, head of Lotte Mart and Super's Vietnam corporation, said, "The Tay Ninh store is a small-to-mid-sized hub store reflecting the K-food and grocery operating capabilities we have built in Vietnam," adding, "We will expand our store network across Vietnam, including opening the Bac Giang store in northern Vietnam in the second half of this year."
