The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) said on the 12th that it will run a "Long-Term Program of the SME and Startup Ieum School" to respond to the aging of small business owners and support stable management succession.
KOSME created the long-term program after a short-term course it ran last year drew a favorable response from business owners. The long-term program consists of an advanced training curriculum for next-generation successors.
The program will run for three months, from September to November. Unlike the short-term course, which lasts two days and one night, the long-term program has a longer training period. To minimize the work disruption for small businesses caused by participation and to enhance the training effect, KOSME introduced a "combined online and offline lecture system." It also plans to flexibly adjust the curriculum by gathering feedback from the field during the program. Those wishing to participate can apply at KOSME training institutes nationwide until the 31st.
Kang Seok-jin, chairman of KOSME, said, "We will run the program centered on field demand to support the stable generational transition and sustainable growth of small businesses."
