Shinhan Financial Group's integrated wealth management (WM) brand "Shinhan Premier" is attracting a large number of ultra-high-net-worth clients on the strength of collaboration between its bank and brokerage units. The brand has ridden the wave of the stock market rally that gained momentum this year. Since introducing its "One WM" strategy, which combines the wealth management capabilities of the bank and the brokerage, the number of clients with deposits of at least 100 million won alone has increased by nearly 130,000.

According to the financial industry on the 9th, total assets managed under Shinhan Premier rose from 171.7 trillion won at the end of 2023 to 278.6 trillion won as of the end of June this year. The figure includes deposits, foreign currency, stocks and financial products such as funds, trusts and bonds.
Over the same period, clients with at least 100 million won increased from 138,041 to 264,273, while those with at least 1 billion won grew from 16,362 to 29,353. In particular, total assets, which stood at 213.9 trillion won at the end of last year, grew by 64.7 trillion won in the first half of this year alone, exceeding the previous full-year increase.
Shinhan Premier is an integrated wealth management brand that combines the asset management capabilities of group affiliates such as Shinhan Bank and Shinhan Securities. It bundles the bank's lending, foreign exchange and trust functions with the brokerage's investment products, portfolio and research capabilities to provide consulting on investment, real estate, taxation, inheritance and succession, and corporate finance. Its main channels include "PIB" for entrepreneur clients, a family office specializing in family wealth management, "PWM" for clients with at least 1 billion won in deposited assets, and bank lounges for clients with at least 100 million won.
Shinhan Premier's strength lies in tailored consulting that draws on the industry's largest expert organization. Shinhan Premier Pathfinder consists of about 100 experts across various fields, centered on macroeconomic expert and team head Oh Gun-young. For a single ultra-high-net-worth client, a team of up to five experts provides comprehensive consulting ranging from asset allocation to taxes, succession and corporate advisory. Shinhan Premier Pathfinder also recently published a wealth management guidebook, "2026 Hyeahn." It will hold a client forum on the 31st of next month.
"Shinhan Premier Workplace WM," which targets the market for managing the assets of corporate executives and employees, is another area gaining traction. The service provides corporate executives and employees with stock compensation programs, retirement pensions, tax and real estate consulting, and financial education.
This approach stems from the One WM strategy, which was pursued in earnest from 2024. One WM is an execution strategy that connects the PWM channels of the bank and the brokerage to consolidate the group's wealth management capabilities. Referral profit, which reflects the results of collaboration between PWM channels, grew from 56.3 billion won in 2024 to 73.7 billion won last year. This year, it is expected to expand to 148.7 billion won. In the retirement pension sector, group synergy is also spreading, with bank-brokerage referral amounts expanding to 47.2 billion won (100 cases) as of the end of May this year. In his foreword to "2026 Hyeahn," Shinhan Financial Chairman Jin Ok-dong stressed, "There are forecasts that artificial intelligence (AI) will replace much of finance, but reading the essence of trends and making the final choice is ultimately the domain of people."
