Lotte Engineering & Construction has been recognized for advancing its information security framework and raising security standards across the construction industry.
The company said on the 9th that it received a Deputy Prime Minister's Commendation for contributing to the development of information security in Korea at the 15th Information Protection Day ceremony, held at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul on the 8th. The commendation is awarded to organizations and individuals that have contributed to the advancement of the information security field, and Lotte E&C was the sole recipient in the organizational category.
Lotte E&C established a dedicated information security organization reporting directly to the CEO in 2019 and appointed a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Since then, the company has been credited with jointly responding to cybersecurity threats through cooperation with related agencies and organizations, and with raising information security standards in the construction industry in line with government security policies.
The company has also continuously strengthened its information security certification framework. In 2017, Lotte E&C became the first in the construction industry to obtain the Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification. In 2022, it received the Information Security and Personal Information Protection Management System (ISMS-P) certification, covering all areas including housing sales, move-ins, defect management, and employee information management. Recently, the company expanded the scope of certification to plant operation systems, maintaining information security certification across its entire corporate IT systems.
Lotte E&C is also expanding its investment in information security. Since 2024, the company has voluntarily participated in information security disclosures, publicly reporting its information security investment activities and personnel status.
"We will continue to thoroughly protect the valuable personal information of our customers and employees, and further solidify our security framework both inside and outside the company," a Lotte E&C official said.
