The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) held a "Culture Day" showcase contest through its communication platform "Sopl" during the month of May, the chamber said on the 9th.
Culture Day is a commemorative day introduced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism beginning in April, held on the last Wednesday of every month. It has recently been expanded to every Wednesday. On Culture Day, various benefits including admission discounts, free viewing, and extended hours are offered at around 2,000 public cultural facilities nationwide, including concert halls, art galleries, museums, and movie theaters.
A total of 560 actual cases were submitted to the contest. Representative examples include "Culture Conditions," in which participants complete a stamp collection through cultural activities to receive funding, and "In-House Art Gallery," in which employees post photos or essays on company bulletin boards.
The KCCI selected and announced one first-place winner, one second-place winner, 10 third-place winners, and 30 honorable mentions. Prizes were provided according to award rankings, and Naver points were also given to all office workers who submitted cases.
The KCCI posted around 40 winning entries on Sopl so that other companies can use them when planning Culture Day events and similar initiatives. Through this, the chamber plans to spread diverse ideas across the business community while promoting healthy cultural consumption.
