The 2026 Genesis Scottish Open, a men's professional golf tournament sponsored by Genesis, will be held from the 9th to the 12th at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland.
Co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour, the tournament will feature 156 players from the two tours and the KPGA Korean Tour.
The field is headlined by top-ranked players including defending champion Chris Gotterup, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, No. 2 Rory McIlroy and No. 4 Matt Fitzpatrick.
Korean players competing include PGA Tour players Si Woo Kim (No. 22), Min Woo Lee (No. 39), Tom Kim (No. 66) and Sungjae Im (No. 80).
Four KPGA Korean Tour players — Lee Jung-hwan, Choi Seung-bin, Ok Tae-hoon and Kim Baek-jun — will also participate as Genesis invitees.
First held in 1972, the Scottish Open is regarded as one of Europe's flagship golf tournaments. It is part of the Rolex Series, the DP World Tour's top-tier events, and Genesis has served as the official sponsor since 2022. Last year, the company extended its sponsorship agreement through 2030.
The total purse is $9 million (approximately 13.6 billion won), and the winner will receive $1.57 million in prize money along with a GV60 Magma. The first player to record a hole-in-one on the 17th hole will receive an electrified GV70, with the caddie receiving a GV60, while the first player to make a hole-in-one on the 15th hole will receive a GV60.
Genesis will provide 135 vehicles for tournament operations and display 14 vehicles throughout the Renaissance Club, including the GV60 Magma, a 1:2 scale model of the GMR-001 hypercar, the electrified GV70, the electrified G80 and the GV60. The company will also showcase the 'Box Buggy' concept, unveiled last month at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world's most prestigious endurance race. In addition, Genesis will set up a dedicated lounge for players and caddies during the tournament, offering Korean-style refreshments.
Euisun Chung, executive chairman of Hyundai Motor (005380.KS) Group, will visit the site to personally greet key guests invited to the tournament. "We have further elevated the overall quality of tournament operations this year so that players, caddies and spectators alike can enjoy Genesis' distinctive hospitality and premium experience," said Lee Si-hyuk, executive vice president and head of the Genesis Business Division. "By completely reconfiguring the order of hole play on the Renaissance Club course, we have added unpredictable tension that lasts until the final moment, and we expect to deliver a world-class golf viewing experience."
