
Chong Kun Dang (185750.KS) has established NURATEON, a research and development subsidiary, to build a technology-based R&D platform.
The company held a founding ceremony for NURATEON at its Hyojong Research Institute in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, on the 8th, Chong Kun Dang said the following day. Around 100 executives and employees attended the event, including Chong Kun Dang Holdings CEO Choi Hee-nam and NURATEON CEO Won Dong-han.
Drawing on the R&D capabilities accumulated by Chong Kun Dang's Hyojong Research Institute, NURATEON will provide development services for new drug formulations, incrementally modified drugs, generics, and over-the-counter (OTC) medicines. The company plans to cover the entire pharmaceutical R&D process, including analytical and formulation research as well as drug delivery system (DDS) research.
NURATEON plans to pursue in-house new product development and technology transfer businesses while expanding customized R&D services for clients. Through this, the company aims to secure domestic and international pharmaceutical and biotech companies as clients and grow into an R&D platform company.
Won Dong-han, a senior executive from Chong Kun Dang's research institute, was appointed as the inaugural CEO. Won earned a doctorate in pharmacy from Pusan National University and has conducted technical research in the pharmaceutical industry for 23 years.
NURATEON presented its vision as "an R&D platform company opening a new era through technological innovation," with technology, collaboration, and innovation as its core values. "We will provide differentiated services to clients and partners based on our excellent research personnel and expertise," Won stressed. "We will lead the growth of the future pharmaceutical industry on the foundation of technological competitiveness and collaboration."
