SSG.com said Tuesday it is strengthening the competitiveness of its "SSG Delivery" service by introducing a service that delivers products to customers' doorsteps within two hours of ordering, using E-mart stores as logistics bases.
Starting Wednesday, SSG.com will pilot the service, which allows customers near E-mart's Yangjae and Hanam stores to receive products within two hours of ordering. For example, if a customer places an order before 8 p.m., delivery is completed within two hours from the time of that day's order.
When customers in the service coverage areas access the SSG.com app, a "delivery available within two hours" message is automatically displayed on the main screen and order form. The existing reservation delivery, in which customers directly specify their desired date and time to receive orders, is also available in the same way.
Free delivery applies to orders of 40,000 won or more, and members of the "SSG 7 Club" membership can earn 7% of their purchase amount for SSG Delivery products (daytime, dawn, and Traders) in SSG Money.
SSG.com plans to expand the service coverage going forward. In August, it will add its Wolgye, Garden5, and Sindorim stores, and starting in September, it will expand nationwide, with plans to apply the service at more than 50 E-mart stores by year-end.
"Based on E-mart's store infrastructure, we are building a delivery system that quickly delivers the freshest products at the time customers want," said Han Gun-soo, head of SCM at SSG.com. "We will continue to improve delivery speed and convenience to innovate the online grocery shopping experience."
