Doosan Enerbility (034020.KS) is accelerating the expansion of its monitoring system business, which enhances the operational reliability of generators.
Doosan Enerbility said Friday that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Createch, a vibration and noise engineering specialist, on the 3rd at its Ulsan plant to advance overseas nuclear power market entry and strengthen cooperation for "B-EYES."
B-EYES is a generator condition monitoring system that measures in real time the electrical current, temperature, vibration, and wear of brushes, which transmit current to a generator's rotating shaft. It detects anomalies early and prevents equipment failures. Through unmanned, automated continuous monitoring, it can improve generator operational reliability and equipment safety compared with conventional manual inspection methods.
Based on the agreement, the two companies plan to advance the production, maintenance, after-sales service, and technical cooperation systems for B-EYES, and to establish a foundation for long-term supply and service cooperation.
Doosan Enerbility recently agreed to supply B-EYES for the generator replacement project at Czech Republic's Temelin Nuclear Power Plant Units 1 and 2. Starting with this supply record, Doosan Enerbility plans to expand its application to various power plants at home and abroad, including thermal power plants as well as nuclear plants.
"We expect this agreement to be an opportunity to fully commercialize generator diagnostic technology developed together with a domestic partner company," said Son Seung-woo, head of Doosan Enerbility's Power Service BG. "Through the Temelin nuclear power project, we will prove our technological competitiveness and expand our generator diagnostic and service solution business not only to domestic power companies but also to the global market."
