The Jeju Province Development Corporation is ramping up exports of Jeju Samdasoo bottled water to the eastern United States, aiming to establish the brand as a global premium water label by targeting the North American market.
The corporation said Thursday that it has confirmed exports to the U.S. East Coast and shipped its first batch of about 40 tons on the 22nd of this month. The shipment will be sold mainly in New York and New Jersey.
The product will be distributed locally through East Coast stores of H Mart, the largest Asian supermarket chain in the Americas. The corporation plans to focus on promoting the water's clean taste and balanced mineral content to local Korean residents as well as American consumers.
The corporation emphasized that it will expand Jeju Samdasoo's standing as a global premium water brand through its entry into the U.S. East Coast market. Its strategy is to broaden consumer touchpoints in New York and the eastern United States, then gradually expand sales bases across the North American market.
