Korea Aerospace Industries (047810), or KAI, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with NH NongHyup Bank for financial cooperation to strengthen the competitiveness of the K-defense and aerospace industries, the company said Monday.
The signing ceremony was attended by KAI President Kim Jong-chul and NH NongHyup Bank President Kang Tae-young, along with key officials from both companies.
Based on the agreement, KAI will establish a financial support framework totaling 1 trillion won over the next three years to secure growth momentum in the defense and aerospace sectors. The agreement was arranged as a preemptive financial partnership to secure the foundation for future business initiatives, including expanding production capacity through domestic and overseas facility investment, new business investment, and export expansion.
In particular, KAI plans to establish a flexible financial support system that allows it to utilize funds of the required scale in a timely manner according to its business and investment plans, supporting the expansion of its production capacity and the pursuit of future growth businesses.
Amid the growing importance of stable financing in line with the recent expansion of K-defense exports and the advancement of the aerospace industry, KAI expects to diversify its liquidity and strengthen its financial stability through the financial partnership with NH NongHyup Bank.
"Through this agreement, we have established a financial foundation to support the continued growth of the K-defense and aerospace industries," President Kim said. "We will continue to secure a stable foundation for business operations through various business collaborations and work to strengthen our competitiveness in the global market."
